Business Christmas Card
From LoveToKnow Christmas
The holiday season is the perfect time to reach out to clients and colleagues with a thoughtful and sincere business Christmas card. When everyone is busy with their Christmas shopping, the right Christmas card can boost sales by effectively marketing your business to important clients.
Shopping for a Business Christmas Card
- Shop early. Order your business Christmas card before Thanksgiving and you may receive a discount on your order.
- Order more. If you order 500 or 1,000 cards, you may see great savings. And, you can always use the left-overs next year for new clients.
- Request personalization. Your company’s Christmas card should not look as though it was purchased at a drug store. Instead, try to make it unique to your industry or profession. That way, clients will immediately recognize that your company sent it, not their Aunt Bea.
- Send a holiday greeting. Instead of assuming that all of your clients celebrate the Christmas holiday, send a holiday greeting. This way you can include all of your clients' traditions and cultures in your holiday wishes. "Happy New Year" cards are also a great way to extend your best wishes throughout the season.
Printing Ideas
Business Christmas cards come in all shapes, sizes and varieties. Pay attention to detail and look for the highest quality cards. For instance, embossing, foils, deckle edges, and lined envelopes add an extra touch of sophistication.
Many business Christmas card companies offer to print your company logo on the card. You can also opt to have a special message printed inside the card. Adding a special verse of poetry or holiday music is a way to make your card individual.
Make certain that the type face used on your business Christmas card is large and clear enough for all your clients to read easily. Avoid elaborate script. It may be difficult for older clients to see.
Addressing and Sending the Card
Inspect your business Christmas cards when the order arrives. It should conform to your specifications and have the quality that you paid for.
Now, it is time to work on sending the cards out the door and into your client’s hands.
- Handwrite the address of the client on the envelope. Many computer-generated labels look cheap and tacky. You don’t want your business Christmas card to look like just another solicitation. Calligraphers can also be hired to handwrite the addresses in a professional and artistic manner.
- Always include the recipient’s title. Formality counts. Address your business holiday cards to “Mr. and Mrs. Adam Freedman”, not “Adam Freedman” or “Adam and Yvette Freedman”.
- If you are sending your business holiday card to a couple with different last names, the form of address should be “Mr. John Robinson and Ms. Sarah Robinson” if the couple is married.
- If you are sending your business holiday card to a couple who is not married, their names should be written alphabetically on separate lines as in:
- Ms. Sarah Robinson
- Mr. Frank Williams
- Ms. Sarah Robinson
- Your business Christmas cards should be sent to your client’s business address.
- If you must send the card to your client’s home address, it is proper to include the spouse’s name. If it is necessary to call the client to find out the spouse’s name, then you should do so.
- Send your business Christmas card early. You must make sure that you send them in time to arrive before Christmas. If you are sending cards locally or nationally, December 15th is a safe cut-off date.
