Favorite holiday songs: "O Holy Night," Bob and Doug's "12 Days of Christmas," Karen Carpenter's "Merry Christmas Darling," any holiday music by Take 6 and Manheim Steamroller's version of "Silent Night."
Favorite holiday movies: "A Christmas Story," "It's a Wonderful Life," "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."
Favorite holiday traditions: opening ONE present on Christmas Eve; candlelight Christmas Eve services; a special Christmas morning breakfast; present "treasure hunts"; caroling; laying under the Christmas tree in a dark room but with the tree illuminated.
Favorite holiday foods: I have a few special recipes, but I like it when each Christmas dinner attendee brings a favorite dish. I don't make cookies as much as I bake wonderful quick breads.
Favorite presents: seeing family and friends, travel, books and music.
Favorite decorating technique: all white lights on the outside of the house, with candles in each window; "The Christmas Room": where ever the tree goes, that is Holiday Central. Otherwise, the rest of the house remains the same.
Shopping Technique: I buy gifts for people throughout the year. It's more cost-effective for me and I like thinking of people for other reasons than just at Christmas.
